Refund Policy
ConGro AI is a prepaid subscription service operated by Oddly Effective LLC. This policy explains when and how we issue refunds. It applies together with our Terms of Service.
Short version
- All sales are final. Refunds are issued only for the specific cases listed below, at our reasonable discretion.
- No refunds for used credits. Credits consumed during a billing period cannot be refunded.
- No refunds for partial periods. Cancelling mid-period does not refund the rest of the period — you keep access until the period ends.
- Credits don't roll over and have no cash value.
- Contact us before a chargeback. Most billing issues are resolved within 24 hours by email.
Cases where we will issue a refund
We issue a full or partial refund in any of the following situations, at our reasonable discretion:
- Billing error. You were charged twice for the same period, charged after your cancellation took effect, or charged the wrong amount for your plan. Reach out with the invoice ID and we'll investigate.
- Accidental renewal. If your yearly subscription renews after you had intended to cancel, contact us within 7 days of the renewal charge and we'll consider a prorated refund (used credits are not refunded).
- Confirmed service outage. A documented incident where the Service was unavailable for more than 72 consecutive hours and you were unable to use any AI features. We'll credit or refund a proportional amount.
- Unauthorized charge. You did not authorize the charge and can provide supporting evidence. Contact us first — a direct refund is faster and doesn't risk your account being auto-cancelled by a chargeback.
Cases where we will NOT issue a refund
- Change of mind after starting to use the Service
- Credits you've already consumed
- Credits remaining at the end of a billing period (they reset and don't carry forward)
- Cancellation mid-period (you keep access until the period ends; no prorated refund)
- Dissatisfaction with AI output quality — language models are probabilistic; output can be wrong or imperfect, and you always need a licensed engineer to review before use
- Violations of our Terms of Service (including reverse engineering, account sharing, credit-limit circumvention, resale, abuse) — accounts suspended for violations are not refunded
- Refund requests made more than 60 days after the relevant charge
- Downtime, disruption, or failure caused by third-party providers (Stripe, Anthropic, your internet provider) or by events outside our reasonable control
- Loss, damage, or liability arising from engineering or construction decisions you made based on AI output — see the Terms of Service Sections 9, 15, and 16
Plan changes and downgrades
Upgrades apply immediately. Stripe prorates the difference and charges it on the same day.
Downgrades apply immediately. Unused time on your current plan is credited to your next bill. Credits already consumed in the current period are not refunded. Credit allowance for the remainder of the current period is reduced to match the new plan, prorated.
How to request a refund
Email start@oddlyeffective.com from the email address on your account. Include:
- The charge date and amount
- The invoice ID (visible in your dashboard → Subscription → Invoices)
- Your reason, with screenshots or logs if it's a billing error or outage
- Your preferred outcome: refund to original card (takes 5–10 business days via Stripe) or account credit
We respond to refund requests within 3 business days and process approved refunds via Stripe.
Chargebacks and payment disputes
Please email us before filing a chargeback with your bank. Filing a chargeback without first contacting us has three consequences:
- Your account is immediately suspended regardless of the dispute's merits
- You are charged a $25 chargeback fee to cover our processor costs, which we may collect via any remaining card on file or by offset against future credits
- The dispute takes much longer to resolve (30–90 days) than a direct refund (same day)
If a chargeback is confirmed as unauthorized (i.e., genuine fraud), the fee is waived. If a chargeback is filed in bad faith — for charges you authorized and received service for — we may refer the matter to collections or a small-claims court in Miami-Dade County, Florida (see Terms Section 19).
Subscription auto-renewal
All subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard or the Stripe customer portal. For yearly plans, Stripe sends a renewal reminder approximately 3 days before renewal.
For the full billing terms, see the Terms of Service.
